About Vans for Schools and Camps
A lot has changed in the past couple of years and the market for passenger vans is no exception. Since the Covid outbreak started in early 2020, a shortage of computer chips and other critical parts has virtually halted the production of the 10-passenger Transit vans that we lease to schools and camps. There have been very few available for purchase in either the new or used market…at any price… for the past 3 years.
To make matters worse, for the 2022 model year Ford has stopped offering any 10-passenger vans for public sale. GM and Dodge do not manufacture them either. For 2023, Ford is producing some 8-passenger vans on the somewhat beefier T350 chassis. We have ordered a number of these 8-passenger vans, but availability has been extremely limited.
We are adding some 8-passenger mini-vans (Honda Odysseys) and 8-passenger SUVs (Nissan Armadas). We would love to hear whether you would consider leasing these SUVs and mini-vans until 8- and 10-passenger Transits become available again.
We do still have many 10-passenger Ford Transits on lease that continue to serve us well. We are living in challenging times, but I believe we will find solutions and will do everything we can to work with you to fulfill your need for vans.
